ausstecherle
We did end up getting a bit of snow yesterday evening, though not as much as I would have hoped. The car still has a bit on it this morning, and there is a wee bit on the grass, but not too much. It was, however, very nice to stand on the front porch and watch the large, goopy, sticky flakes come down. I held Sedgwick in my arms for a while (the cats don't really go outside any more) and he didn't mind the stuff on his head. Sidney? That was a different story. He sort of freaked.

Sunday also heralded the start to the annual cookie extravaganza. OK, technically I wasn't going to start for a few more days, but why not spend a wet, snowy Sunday making Ausstecherle? This year, I am making 16 kinds and will be done with them on the 8th. I leave for New England that following week, and like last year, those cookies what I don't give away here in Seattle will be mailed to Maine.
