We’re back from our trip, arriving late last night from Boston. It was a long day: we awoke in Orono to the sound of the snowplow and had visions of feet of snow. While it wasn’t deep, it was a bit of a rough ride for the first while (until about Augusta) mainly because even though it snows all the time in Maine, apparently people are incapable of driving in snow (the same holds true that Seattle drivers can’t seem to get the hang of driving in the rain). We did make it to Boston in decent time (only a little over 4 hours) and then caught a Boston Coach to the airport. For those of you in Boston who have never used Boston Coach, they rock. They are a little more expensive than a cab but the driver usually has an MBA, can carry on a conversation as if he had read the New York Times front to back that morning and there is always a Wall Street Journal and a copy of the Financial Times in the car. I just checked and they have services all over the country (and lots of parts of the world) although in Seattle, they are still too expensive (like 100 bucks from SEATAC to the house in Kirkland).
Anyway, I digress...
The flight was fine, even though it was delayed because some kid brought her animal on board in her backpack not a pet carrier (nothing like holding up a plane full of people causing more than a handful to miss connections out of Seattle...). There was a very cool check-in lady who gave Ben and I the emergency row and blocked off the middle seat so it was a comfortable ride.
So, this will be a week of catch-up. I’ve got some projects going on and some end-of-the-year things that I want to do. Tomorrow we’ll put up Matt and Audrey’s wedding site (I am editing pictures as we speak).
Oh, and it isn’t freezing here, although it is cold. This picture is of a stream semi-iced-over in Maine.
