Wet Space Needle

12.06.2003 21:43

That is the Space Needle, from below, while we were waiting for the lovely valet-chick to present the Ludwig-mobile. Generally I hate valeting, because I feel guilty, but it was actually cheaper than parking ourselves, and besides, there was a Sonics game…

Last night was the company Christmas party, at – you guessed it – the international terrorist target known as the Space Needle. It was a lot of fun, and great to see people so dressed up. I think that it was the most dressed up event that I have been to in Seattle (semi-formal, although there were two significant others who wore tuxedos). We had a white-elephant gift exchange and I stole the evil looking garden gnome from Clara at the last second. It’s evil looking I tell yah – I’m sure a picture will end up here eventually.

The fun of my Saturday is the Sedgwick ended up on the roof somehow and he couldn’t get down. We, of-course, don’t own a ladder, so I dragged the garden table to where I could at least reach him (barely) and after an hour of coaxing, he came close enough for me to secure a paw. He was pretty cold and wet by the time it was all over, and pretty scared. I was wet and ticked off.

They are expecting almost two feet of snow in Boston and quite the dumping in Maine too. Ahh, snow in New England. In the Starbucks today, the barista was from Cambridge – Porter Square in fact. I was wearing one of my Harvard T-shirts, which almost always elicits comments.
