The dog days of summer have arrived in the Northeast with temperatures to stay in the low 90s here in Boston until Sunday. Fun fun, but I actually rather like it. OK, I like it because I have an AC.
As some of you know, I've been having a bit of a rough spot of things -- down, a few medical issues (no, I am not going into detail), blah, blah. Anyway, more than a few people have suggested that I take a few days (or as much time as I could spare really, which is, in essence none, but whatever) off and go someplace without cell phone, laptop, internet and television. Someplace and completely and utterly get away by myself.
And it struck me: 1. where would I go? and 2. Is that even possible? I suppose that if money were no object I could go where ever, but even so, it is even possible for me to completely turn off? When I flew to the West Coast last week and was on an airplane for 6 hours I practically had email withdrawal symptoms. That's probably not a good sign, huh? [grin] |
