For the second time in a week, I'll be digging my car out from the snow. This time, there might be a layer of crusty ice on it too. I'll keep you posted.
The first storm walloped Boston on Thursday with a lovely 10-20 inches (at the apartment, I think it was about 18 or 19 inches). It hit during the day, the cleaned up at night (at my Portuguese neighbor ran his snowblower at midnight and at two AM after the plows came by).
Today, I woke up the the battering of snow, mixed with ice on the windows. We probably have about 8 more inches at this writing (it's about 10:30 AM). They say it's going to switch over to rain (which may make things even worse), but I doubt that because it is so cold. So, unless the power fails, my day will be spent wrapping Christmas presents, writing cards, packing up more cookies, watching TV and cuddling with the cats. That isn't even that bad of a plan, for a Sunday anyway. |
